It is essential to protect the eyes against mechanical, optical, chemical or thermal hazards. Safety glasses belong to the personal safety equipment of the so-called category II (protection against medium risks).
Eye protection is required for the following risks:
- mechanical: e.g. dust, solid particles caused by grinding and milling
- chemical and biological: e.g. acid splashes, solutions for cleaning work
- optical: like ultraviolet, infrared, visible light or laser (e.g. for welding)
- thermal: e.g. hot liquids, flames or splashes of molten material (electric welding)
Our glasses are tested according to the requirements of the European Directive 89/686/EC.
Due to the very different requirements for eye and face protection, it is not always easy for the user to choose the right equipment.
