Polyetheretherketon (PEEK)
PEEK is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic. Even under thermal stress it shows excellent sliding properties in combination with very good mechanical properties. The excellent chemical resistance and high continuous operating temperature round off the profile and make PEEK an almost universally applicable material for heavily loaded parts.
Properties:
- high continuous operating temperature (260°C)
- high mechanical strength
- extreme rigidity
- high creep resistance even at high temperatures
- good gliding characteristics
- high wear resistance
- high dimensional stability
- excellent chemical resistance
- hydrolysis resistant
- good electrical insulator
- radiation resistant
Application:
- Chemical Technology
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Aerospace technology
- Automotive Industry
- Food Technology
- Semiconductor Technology
- Vacuum Technology
- High temperature insulators
- Pump parts
- Valve Seats
- Slide bearing
- Bearing shells
- Gears
PEEK GF 30 natural
This is a type reinforced with 30 % glass fibres.
Compared to PEEK, PEEK GF30:
- increased stiffness
- higher mechanical strength
- higher creep resistance
- better dimensional stability
PEEK PVX black
A type modified mainly for sliding applications. The PEEK is mixed with 10% each of PTFE, graphite and carbon fibres to generate these properties. These additives achieve optimum sliding friction values, making the material also very suitable for dry running conditions. In addition, the carbon fibres give the material good strength, which in its entirety favours its use in highly stressed bearing points.
Properties:
- high stability
- very good sliding friction properties
- very good dry running properties
- high wear resistance
- high chemical resistance
- high life expectancy
- good dimensional stability
PEEK CF30 black
Properties:
- high mechanical strength
- extreme rigidity
- high creep resistance
- very good sliding and wear behaviour
- very good dimensional stability
- excellent chemical and hydrolytic resistance
- excellent radiation resistance
PEEK CF30 black is also available in a medical grade version. Special carbon fibres are used for this purpose to meet the requirements of biocompatibility.
PEEK ELS black
For applications requiring a plastic with electrical conductivity, PEEK ELS black usually offers the optimum solution. By adding carbon nano tubes, a high conductivity for a plastic is achieved.
Properties:
- good electrical conductivity
- good firmness
- good tenacity
- good temperature resistance
- high chemical resistance
- good radiation resistance
- high dimensional stability
PEEK MT
The PEEK MT materials for medical applications meet the requirements of physiological safety. For these materials, special raw materials with corresponding approvals are used, which are processed under consideration of product quality and medical-technical aspects. The semi-finished products are additionally tested for biocompatibility in regular cycles.
PEEK MT is available in various colors and dimensions.
