Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG)
Transparent
PETG (polyethylene terephthalate+glycol) is a transparent copolyester with excellent material properties in terms of thermoformability, transparency and impact resistance.
The material has a wide temperature application range from –40 °C to +65 °C, is physiologically safe and extremely easy to process. Even when heated, it does not crystallize and thus remains completely transparent.
This offers decisive advantages, especially for hot and vacuum thermoforming. PETG is highly qualified for a wide range of applications from medical technology and design to machine safety glazing.
Properties:
- impact resistant and unbreakable
- crystal clear and highly transparent
- very good thermoforming properties
- good mechanical processing
- very good thermal forming properties
- good chemical resistance
- physiological harmlessness
- very good printability
Applications:
- Structural engineering
- Orthopedic and medical technology
- Food production
- Exhibition stand construction and digital printing
- Machine covers
- Displays
