Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
PPS is a semi-crystalline, high temperature resistant thermoplastic. Due to its chemical structure PPS is a very resistant polymer with very good mechanical strength even in temperature ranges above 200°C. In addition to low water absorption, PPS also has good dimensional stability and exhibits excellent electrical properties. Furthermore, PPS is chemically very resistant even at elevated temperatures.
Properties:
- high temperature resistance
- very good strength and stiffness
- low creep tendency
- very abrasion resistant
- very good chemical resistance
- excellent electrical properties
- low water absorption
- sensitive to weather
