Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate (PC) is an amorphous, thermoplastic material of the polyester family. Due to its low degree of crystallization, PC has a high transparency. The plastic is characterized by high strength, stiffness and hardness. In addition, PC is very impact resistant and has a high heat deflection temperature.
A distinction is made between optical and industrial quality. The optical quality is a polished polycarbonate which is highly transparent. The industrial quality is a colourless, cloudy, unpolished semi-finished product. After machining, however, it can also be polished to achieve a higher transparency.

Optical quality:
PC clear
Clear, polished polycarbonate, which has a high transparency combined with high breaking strength. The material is the ideal choice for all types of protective panes, especially for industrial glazing and enclosures. The exceptionally wide temperature range from –100 °C to +120 °C ensures that it can be used even under the most extreme conditions. It is easy to process, can be hot formed and can be cold folded.
PC ESD anti-static
Clear, polished polycarbonate, which has a high transparency and at the same time high breaking strength and is also electrically conductive. The electrostatic dissipation capability protects highly sensitive electrostatic sensitive components (ESD) from uncontrolled electrostatic discharges. Dust and impurities are no longer attracted, so this material is also recommended in areas that are difficult to access and therefore difficult to clean.
Industrial quality:
PC natural
Polycarbonate produced in standard semi-finished products for further processing. This quality of polycarbonate is designed for machine processing, i.e. the polycarbonate is only optically clear if it is polished mechanically or chemically after processing.
PC GF 30
Material reinforced with 30% glass fibers and has better strength, stiffness, creep resistance and higher dimensional stability than the unreinforced polycarbonate. These properties and good fatigue resistance make the glass-filled polycarbonate material suitable for components that are exposed to high static loads over long periods of time and at high temperatures.
